25 states now have constitutional carry laws

January 2, 2023

When Alabama's constitutional carry law took effect on Jan. 1, 2023, it became the 25th state to have a such a legal provision, requiring no permit or fee to carry a firearm for self-defense.

Only 12 years ago, there were only two constitutional carry states -- Vermont and Alaska.

Now, many southern and midwestern states have joined the constitutional carry bandwagon, along with a few notable eastern states like Maine and New Hampshire.

Nebraska expects to be the next state to pass constitutional carry, which will mean that more than half of U.S. states will have it.

States that don't have constitutional carry have a different view of the Constitution and Second Amendment than others -- they think it is conditional or only applies to state militias.

What part of "the right to bear arms shall not be infringed" don't leftist-run states understand?
