A 15-year-old illegal immigrant who shot a tourist Thursday during a robbery at a Times Square store in New York City was arrested in Yonkers 24 hours after the incident, the New York Post reported.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Regional Fugitive Task Force and the NYPD arrested Venezuelan teen Jesus Alejandro Rivas-Figueroa at a relative's home on Friday afternoon.

Reports said that the suspect was crying when he was taken into custody.

"Here he is committing these adult acts, that’s something you don’t expect a child to do, and then when he’s apprehended, he’s brought out in handcuffs crying,” NYPD spokesman Carlos Nieves told reporters.

The young teen is suspected of having committed another armed robbery in the Bronx and having fired his gun at a park on 45th Street.

Police said he will probably be charged as a juvenile with the attempted murder of a policeman because he fired his weapon at police during the incident. A woman from Brazil was struck in the leg instead but will recover.
