123 Officers Killed In Line Of Duty In 2023

 January 2, 2024

The most recent annual wrap-up stat will leave you sick to your stomach.

In 2023, 123 police officers took their last breath in the line of duty. According to ODMP.org, the number is down from last year. But, that number should be zero.

123 lives were cut short. 123 families lost their loved ones. America lost 123 protectors.

New Year’s Eve was no different.

Sergeant Philip Dale Nix was gunned down for attempting to intervene in a crime he saw taking place. The mayor of Greensboro, North Carolina called the shooting “a senseless act of violence.”

Nix was off duty at the time.

Before he died trying to protect the well-being of others, Nix had served in the line of duty for 22 years at the Greensboro Police Department.

The chief of that department, John Thompson, spoke about the incredible man Nix was. “He was a loving husband, father, son and brother with 22 years of service to the department,” Thompson said.

We need a president in the White House who will back the blue and work to protect our officers.

America needs former President Donald Trump now more than ever.
